It is believed that nature is sacred and that the natural cycles of birth, growth and death observed in the world around us carry profoundly spiritual meanings.

Human beings are seen as part of nature, along with other animals, trees, stones, plants and everything else that is of this earth. 

The solstice (combining the Latin words sol for “Sun” and sistere for “To Stand Still”) is the point where the Sun appears to reach either its highest or lowest point in the sky for the year and thus ancient astronomers came to know the day as one where the Sun appeared to stand still.

This handcrafted ornament is made from a poplar wood slice with such a beautifully natural bark. It measure approximately 4” in diameter.

The design is first hand drawn, then burned into to wood using the ancient art of Pyrography; then, using acrylics, the burned design is hand painted.

The design shown is a wood pentagram with white Wiccan candles, sage, rosemary, juniper mistletoe and holly - all  significant in Pagan/Wiccan lores and traditions.

Your ornament hangs using a screw in loop and coordinating ribbons in your choice of color(s)
